At Open Lens Media, we believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to build a future that excites them. That’s why our Pathways Employability Programme goes beyond traditional employability training by offering tailored mentoring and coaching support to help young people break through barriers and achieve their goals.

What is the Pathways Programme?

Pathways is a creative employability programme designed to support young people aged 16-35 across the Black Country. We understand that employment and personal development journeys are unique to each individual, so we provide free, personalised 1-to-1 sessions that are tailored to your needs, aspirations, and circumstances.

The Role of Employment Mentoring in Pathways

Mentoring is a key part of the Pathways experience. We recognise that many young people face obstacles that can make it difficult to take the next step forward. That’s where our in-house Employability and Development Coach, Tahlena, comes in.

Tahlena provides guidance and mentoring to help you: 

✔ Identify your strengths and build confidence in your abilities 

✔ Overcome personal and professional challenges that may be holding you back 

✔ Develop skills that boost employability and career progression 

✔ Set realistic and achievable goals for education, employment, or personal growth 

✔ Stay motivated and focused on your journey to success

Personalised Support for Real Progress

You will get 6 free, 1-hour coaching sessions, designed to support you in areas such as:

• CV building and job applications

• Interview preparation and confidence-building

• Time management and goal-setting

• Self-employment and business development

By working closely with you, our mentoring service makes sure that you receive the support, encouragement, and tools you need to navigate your next steps with confidence.
